The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) cannot ignore Yerevan’s stated position on European integration plans and the European Union (EU) summit on Ukraine held in Armenia, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev said.

“Today, we [i.e. the CIS] cannot ignore the recent European Union summit on Ukraine held in Armenia and the position of the country’s leadership on Armenia’s membership in the EU. Moreover, Armenia continues to remain a member of the CIS, CSTO, EAEU, and enjoys the benefits of that membership,” Lebedev said during a roundtable discussion on the 35th anniversary of the CIS.
