Russian ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin and the Russian diplomatic mission in Armenia laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Victory Park in Yerevan on the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War.

Representatives of the Russian 102nd Military Base in Gyumri, the Border Service of the Russian Federal Security Service, diplomatic missions of friendly countries, Armenian state structures, as well as public and youth organizations also participated in the ceremony dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Mourning.

Every year on June 22, Russia observes the Day of Remembrance and Mourning. It is dedicated to the start of the Great Patriotic War, which claimed the lives of about 27 million Soviet people.
