Today, there are forces in Armenia that want to create the impression that 300 thousand Azerbaijanis will come to Armenia, but we have irrevocably closed that topic. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is on vacation and heads the ruling Civil Contract party’s electoral list for the parliamentary election in Armenia on June 7, announced this during an election campaign Tuesday in Tsaghkadzor city of Kotayk Province.
According to Pashinyan, Armenia should not bring the issue of the return of Armenians who had left Azerbaijan’s Baku, Sumgait and Kirovabad—i.e. today’s Ganja—cities as well as Nagorno-Karabakh to the agenda, because in that case mirror agendas are opened. He called it a crime against the Karabakh people.
“Today, we [i.e. Armenia] are spending billions so that the Karabakh people settle in Armenia, but the three-headed party of war is doing everything so that the Karabakh people do not calm down,” Pashinyan noted.
The Armenian premier added that the “Homeland” is the state, and there is no “Homeland” outside the state, because by the same logic, Armenia can also be considered a “Homeland” for others.
