The situation in the Middle East remains tense and unstable. Reports of peace talks between Iran and the US in Islamabad reflect only attempts to establish a dialogue; contacts are irregular and have not yet yielded results.

At the same time, Israel, despite the declared ceasefire, continues to strike Lebanon, and this indicates a de facto violation of the ceasefire. In general, the region remains in a state of protracted escalation of tension, and the risks of further escalation of this tension remain.

Armenian News-NEWS.am presents below a brief overview of the main developments that took place in and regarding the Middle East on Monday night.

US President Donald Trump said that that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and several other countries had asked the United States to delay strikes on Iran by two to three days.
