Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Armenia fully remains a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), while developing its relations with Europe, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.
Putin had met with Pashinyan in the Kremlin on September 26.
“Armenia fully remains a member of the EAEU, but in parallel with this, it is developing its relations with other vectors of foreign policy also, in particular; with Europe,” Peskov told reporters Monday.
At the same time, he noted that at that time Pashinyan had clarified that at some point it would be necessary to make a final decision on the choice of the future path of Armenia’s economic integration.
“And this will be done through a referendum; that is, it is the Armenian people who will have the final say,” Peskov said.
