Armenia is among Russia's friendly countries, and the latter are in one of the most advanced integration processes—in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the head of state of Russia.

"Undoubtedly, we [i.e. Russia] are in one of the most advanced integration processes with Armenia—in the EAEU. [Russian President] President Putin will leave for Astana this week, it will be a state visit. And after that, all day, on Friday, the heads of state and government will address the topic of the EAEU, a session of the EAEU supreme commission will be held," Peskov told reporters Monday, answering the question of whether Russia and Armenia are still friends.

The Russian presidential spokesperson noted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not participate in the meeting of the EAEU commission due to parliamentary election campaign considerations in Armenia.

"At the same time, we expect that one way or another the Armenian side will nevertheless participate in this very important meeting," Peskov added.
