The Prime Minister's Office has submitted a draft for public discussion on e-draft.am, which proposes to designate June 23 as Public Servant Day in the law on holidays and memorial days of Armenia.

The explanation states that the relevant decisions of the Armenian government have established the day of the national security bodies’ employee on January 8, the rescuer's day on September 4, the prosecutor's office employee's day on July 1, the compulsory enforcement officer's day on May 5, the investigative committee employee's day on October 8, the police day on April 16, the penitentiary employee's day on October 19, the international human rights day on December 10, etc.

This situation creates a diversity of public service, which contradicts the current agenda for the development of public service. In this context, it is important to declare a single public servant's day in Armenia.

The adoption of the draft aims to assess, encourage, promote, reward, value, and emphasize the role and importance of public servants in the sustainable development of Armenia, the effective provision of public services, and the development of a single policy through the application of new ideas and already acquired experience.
