The passenger plane flying from Gyumri, Armenia to Moscow, Russia on Monday has been diverted to the Makhachkala city airport in Russia after issuing an emergency alert, as per Flightradar service and the airport’s online flight information.
The Boeing plane had taken off from Gyumri at 11:24 Moscow time. But about an hour into the flight, in the skies over Dagestan, the crew issued a “general emergency” alert, after which the plane began to descend and reached an altitude of about 3,000 meters.
It later became known that the plane was redirected to Makhachkala. According to the respective flight information, the plane will now land there, although it was scheduled to arrive in Moscow at 15:25 local time.
