The settlement process launched between Azerbaijan and Armenia creates a solid foundation for regional integration and mutually beneficial cooperation. This process is an important step on the path to strengthening peace and developing economic ties. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated this, speaking at an event held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

“After the end of the protracted conflict and the full restoration of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the region is transitioning from years of instability to real opportunities for peace and cooperation,” the Azerbaijani FM added.

According to Bayramov, by investing about $15 billion in the “liberated territories,” Azerbaijan is demonstrating its sincere interest in closing the chapter of the conflict in the region.

He also stated that the Washington Declaration signed in August 2025 laid the foundation for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, which “will not only ensure seamless multimodal connectivity between the main territory of Azerbaijan and [its exclave,] the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, but also create a new strategic route between Asia and Europe through railways, highways, energy pipelines, power lines, and fiber-optic cables.”

Bayramov added that the Horadiz-Aghbend railway and the new Kars-Igdir-Dilucu railway will complement the so-called “Zangezur Corridor” and strengthen transport links between Asia and Europe.
