The comprehensive Strategic Partnership Charter was signed Tuesday between Armenia and the US.

The document was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The parties also signed a framework agreement on cooperation on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, as well as a framework memorandum of understanding in mineral extraction and development.

The signing ceremony took place at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport.

US Secretary of State Rubio arrived in the Armenian capital with his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio, for a few hours.

Rubio stopped over in Yerevan on a working visit on his way back to Washington, D.C. from India.
