You have bragged a little, you cannot trample anyone. You can only catch people. In Armenia, you are only a “ministry of catching people.” Narek Karapetyan, who heads Strong Armenia bloc’s proportional representation list of parliamentary candidates for the National Assembly election on June 7, stated this in a video message on Facebook on Monday.

The politician responded very harshly to the rhetoric of the members of the ruling force, noting that in recent days the current authorities have increasingly resorted to insults in their speeches and are trying to show that they are supposedly capable of suppressing someone. Karapetyan said that, apart from using dictatorial tools and arrests, the current leadership of Armenia is not capable of anything else. According to him, it will not be possible to silence one's own failures by intimidating citizens, since society is waiting for solutions to real problems, not aggressive statements from the podiums.

Sharing the results of his visits to Armenia’s provinces, Narek Karapetyan spoke about the situation in the Armavir Province, pointing out both positive and negative aspects. He said that hardworking farmers are ready to work and cultivate fruits and vegetables that are in demand, but are faced with a catastrophic shortage of irrigation water and a complete lack of procurement mechanisms. The politician noted that the state has not yet resolved fundamental economic issues, declaring that "you cannot develop an economy with asphalt alone," and the country needs a competent economic policy that will enable farmers to profitably sell their crops.

According to Karapetyan, the situation is even more acute in Gegharkunik Province, where the unemployment rate is significantly high. In response to the pessimists who claim that there are no 300 thousand potential workers in Armenia, the leader of the aforesaid bloc’s electoral list advised them to visit Gegharkunik, Shirak, Lori, or Aragatsotn Provinces. He noted that thousands of Armenians are forced to leave for work abroad, although in reality people are willing and ready to work in their homeland if they are given such an opportunity.

In closing, Karapetyan said that the expected changes and the creation of new jobs are the only way to return people home and free Armenia from destructive rule. Narek Karapetyan added that the Strong Armenia bloc is going to the elections with a clear economic alternative, which will replace the logic of persecution with the logic of creation, and development of the provinces.
