Until now, we are on the European Union's aviation "black list," and we are still unable to get out of that "black list." But this does not mean that there is a crisis in Armenia-European Union relations. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who is on vacation and heads the ruling party’s electoral list for the parliamentary elections on June 7, stated this at a press conference Friday.

"I understand that the number of those who want to cause a crisis in Armenia-Russia relations is quite large—both in Armenia and in Russia. But we will not argue, let alone fight, with Russia because it is frivolous. Russia is a superpower that must be treated with respect, and we [i.e. Armenia] treat [it] with respect. And we treat Russia's interests with respect. Armenia has never been involved, is not involved, and will not be involved in anti-Russian actions.

I told you an episode during the previous [press] briefing that it was said during official negotiations that relations between Armenia and the European Union harm Russia's interests. I said, ‘please give an example,’ I repeated that question twice, and it was not possible to give any example, because there is no such example. He says, ‘the president of Ukraine came to Armenia.’ Excuse me, but why shouldn't he have come to Armenia? When Armenia was in conflict with Azerbaijan, wasn't the president of Azerbaijan going to Russia, or wasn't the president of Russia going to Azerbaijan? Has there been such a case that we would say, ‘why is the president of Azerbaijan going to Russia, or the president of Russia going to Azerbaijan?’

Especially, I said back in 2022 that Armenia is not Russia's ally in the Ukraine issue. It's very simple logic.

How many times has the president of Russia gone to Azerbaijan? Aren't we a state? Isn’t Ukraine a state? Ukraine is a member state of the UN, a member state of the European Political Community," the Armenian premier added.
