Early this morning, masked officers from the Republic of Armenia National Security Service (RA NSS) stormed the Mother Armenia party office.

Party board member Aregnaz Manukyan went live on Facebook, where she demanded that law enforcement officers first serve a summons, then begin investigative actions, and only then would she turn off her smartphone.

Law enforcement officers demand that she turn off her smartphone, as this is a secret investigative action.

MP candidate Andranik Tevanyan is also there.

“At the moment, masked individuals and investigators are in Andranik Tevanyan’s office. Armenia’s number one traitor [i.e. meaning PM Nikol Pashinyan] accuses others of treason. They are arresting Andranik Tevanyan on Nikol Pashinyan’s illegal orders,” Manukyan said.

Nikol Pashinyan had announced on Wednesday during the election campaign that the RA NSS would send a report against Andranik Tevanyan to the Investigative Committee of Armenia to initiate a criminal case under the article of high treason. Tevanyan had responded by declaring that Pashinyan himself is a state traitor and will have to answer for his actions in the future.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia on Thursday released a statement that criminal proceedings have been initiated against Andranik Tevanyan on charges of high treason and espionage.

Andranik Tevanyan is the second on the Prosperous Armenia Party’s electoral list for the parliamentary election on June 7.

The statement released by the Investigative Committee of Armenia reads: “The RA Investigative Committee, according to a report received from the RA NSS, RA citizen A. T., being a political figure who supported the ‘Armenia’ bloc of parties in the parliamentary elections held in 2021 and an NA [(National Assembly)] MP included in the national electoral list of the same bloc, was recruited by foreign special services in 2024, and during the same period, on the instructions of a representative of foreign special services who is the director of the ‘Russia Caucasus’ geopolitical center, during the same period committed espionage, as well as illegally collected and transferred to the latter, in exchange for a particularly large sum of 622 thousand US dollars, information containing state secrets—translated into Russian—on the process and results of the hearings held at the NA closed, secret session in April 2024, thereby committing high treason to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and external security of the Republic of Armenia.

Based on the report received from the RA NSS, a criminal case has been initiated (...) on the grounds of high treason (Section 1 of Article 418) and espionage (Section 1 of Article 424)."
