The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (ISA) conducted operations in which the commander of the Nuhba special unit of the Palestinian Hamas movement, who was involved in an attack on an Israeli settlement during the October 7, 2023 attack, was eliminated, the IDF press service reported Sunday.
Over the weekend, the IDF and ISA struck the southern Gaza Strip and eliminated Nuhba commander Zaki Yusef Mahmoud Abu Mustafa, according to a statement posted on the IDF's Telegram channel.
As per the IDF, Abu Mustafa had previously infiltrated Kibbutz Nir Oz and allegedly participated in attacks against soldiers and used one of the hospitals to carry out “terrorist activities.” Also, he is said to have attempted to restore the military capabilities of the Islamic Jihad organization, violating the ceasefire agreement.
