The Iranian body that monitors the Strait of Hormuz has opened an official account on X as part of efforts to facilitate transit through this crucial international maritime corridor.
The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) said in its first post on Monday that the account will be used to publish operational updates and information on the latest developments in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, Press TV had reported on the launch of a new maritime mechanism by Iran for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The mechanism stipulates that all ships planning to transit the strait will receive e-mails from the PGSA with information about the rules and regulations of the passage.
The PGSA was created when Iran had assumed full control of the Strait of Hormuz in response to US-Israeli aggression.
Last month, according to a bill submitted to the Iranian parliament, it is planned to introduce restrictions on ships belonging to or associated with the US and other adversaries, as well as to impose a complete ban on the passage of ships associated with Israel.
The document also provides for a system of payments for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. These funds shall be used to compensate for the damage caused to Iran before and after the conflict, as well as to ensure the safety of navigation and protect the environment.
