The missing section of the Gyumri-Kars railway must be built, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on vacation, told reporters Monday.

Mirzoyan said that he is currently conducting a dialogue in this regard with Russian colleagues.

“If we manage to jointly complete this section, then we will go that way. And if not, then we will find another solution. But this issue must be resolved,” Mirzoyan noted.

According to him, Armenia has a historic opportunity to become an alternative link in the new West-East commodity flow.

“This movement will happen one way or another. We [i.e. Armenia] have a historic opportunity to become a key node. We will not miss this opportunity, it cannot be missed, so this issue must be resolved,” the Armenian FM added.
