The draft agreement between Iran and the US includes a 60-day extension of the ceasefire, and a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon.

Two regional officials familiar with the course of the respective diplomatic talks have confirmed to CBS News that—if approved by Iran—the draft memorandum of understanding includes the following terms:

An extension of the current ceasefire for a period of 60 days;

Iran's immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and taking measures to restore shipping there to pre-war levels within 30 days;

A joint statement by Iran, the US, and their allies on an immediate and final cessation of all hostilities on all fronts—including in Lebanon. The parties also commit not to wage war against each other and to refrain from the use or threat of force;

A reaffirmation by Iran of its commitment never to develop a nuclear weapon;

Iran’s agreement to use its stockpile of enriched uranium in accordance with a mechanism to be agreed upon between the two parties;

The resolution of issues related to the frozen financial assets of Iran and sanctions against the regime will directly depend on Tehran’s compliance with the above points.

A senior US administration official confirmed to CBS News on Sunday that all of these points are in fact true, except for the provision for a cessation of all hostilities on all fronts—including Lebanon, and the provision for a 60-day extension of the ceasefire.
