Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, plays a vital role, becoming a strategic hub for regional energy and trade ties. Azerbaijani energy minister Parviz Shahbazov stated this at an event held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan
As per Shahbazov, Azerbaijan’s aforesaid role is further enhanced by the development of a new corridor, one of the key elements of which will be the so-called "Zangezur Corridor."
Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, for his part, stated that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is now a thing of the past.
"The war and conflict are already over as of 2024. The South Caucasus should no longer be an area of war and conflict," Hajiyev added.
